The Department of Literature from the School of Language and Literary Studies, MLCU, hosted a World Poetry Day celebration by organising an inter-college poetry contest on March 21 st , 2023 at the MLCU Hall, Nongrah. Participants from colleges and universities from different parts of the North East took part and the winners were announced during the World Poetry Day program at the MLCU hall. The judges and panellists were professors and poets from St. Mary’s College, St. Anthony’s College and Shillong College. The top 5 winners had the opportunity to read out their poems while the panellists discussed the merits of each of them. 

The winners were:-

2. Marbamonlang Rani, St. Anthony’s College
3. Chongboi Singson, Nagaland University
4. Sardonyx Milliemngap, St Edmund’s College
5. Sharodi Hazarika, NEHU.
