MISSION
The School of Economics, Commerce and Management aspires to prepare and develop students with relevant industrial, managerial and entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and values, thereby, empowering them to be self-reliant and capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
Over the years the Department of Economics, Commerce and Management has offered undergraduate and postgraduate programs in these fields, the fruits of which we now see in our students who have graduated from MLCU. The scope of Economics, Commerce and Management is wide and thus the creation of the school can house other new courses eg MBA in Rural Business, International Business, Health/ Hospitality Management, Banking and Technology and other relevant courses.
The School of Economics, Commerce and Management will facilitate departments to function and provide flexible and related academic culture. This will support integrating interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and collaborative learning. Learning will be strengthened through the collaboration of the different subjects taught, programs conducted, live projects, internships, case studies, field visits and also extra-curricular activities. In the field of research, different approaches and perspectives calls for a collaboration of different faculty experts of different departments, schools within the university and outside.
The School has carried out the following activities:

- Seminar on Sustainable Livelihoods, Avenues of Entrepreneurship, and others
- Synergy- Farmer’s Market
- Manroi – Business Consultancy
- Management Fest, College Competitions
- Webinars- On Marketing, HR, Finance, Entrepreneurship and Economics topics.
- Annual Department Club activities
