The Department of Information Technology organized a tech fest showcase competition on the March 23rd 2023, where several colleges participated to showcase their innovative projects and ideas. The competition aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their technical skills and creativity in the field of information technology.

The judges for the competition were Dr. Pynbianglut Hadem, Scientist -D from National Informatics Centre, Meghalaya and Sir George Kharmujai who has 10 plus years experience as a Software Designer and Developer . St. Edmunds College bagged both the first and second prizes, while the third prize went to St. Anthony’s College.

The winning entry from St. Edmunds College used gesture recognition to create a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, which is an alternative form of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) from using standard input devices. As part of the tech fest, Sir Aiborlang Nongkynrih, a Full Stack Developer and Technology Lead at Sonicbolt Technologies LLP, gave an inspiring talk to the students about the use of modern tools and technologies.
