The EconClub of the Department of Economics, Martin Luther Christian University, organised a donation-cum-awareness programme on poverty eradication on the 17^th of October, 2022. The programme was held in World Mission Children’s Home at Nartiang, West Jaintia Hills District. The students of the Department of Economics were able to raise an amount of thirty thousand rupees from several organisations and individuals including Meghalaya Cooperatives Apex Bank, P. N. Syiem (member of KHADC), et al. The amount was utilized to buy provision and other necessities required for the children’s education. The students also organised a workshop on money, savings and other related topics focusing on financial literacy.
