Martin Luther Christian University hosted a fete cum pre-Christmas celebration on 12 December to raise funds for crisis-hit Manipur.
The fete featured 23 stalls offering a diverse range of items, including delicious food from various cuisines, interactive games, and products such as Christmas decorations, shawls, clothig and more.
Other contributors to the effort were NEEPCO, Meghalaya Women’s Alliance, and the Indian Council of Social Welfare.
These organisations have donated essential items such as utensils, warm clothing, and blankets, which will be dispatched to various relief in Manipur.
Chief guest and member of the university’s board and also the editor of The Shillong Times, Patricia Mukhim narrated her visit to the camps in Manipur and how the children and families will not be able to celebrate Christmas in the comfort of their homes.
‘The programme initiated by the university and its contribution will definitely bring some joy and love of Christmas to these camps’.
