ABOUT MLCU
Martin Luther Christian University was created by Act No.11 of 2005 of the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya and received the assent of the Governor on July 6, 2005. The Government of Meghalaya issued the gazette notification on February 22, 2006. The creation of the university is in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956 under Section 2(f) and the university is empowered to grant degrees underSection22 of the UGC Act. MLCU is recognized by the UGC vide a notification and the University has been granted Reg.No.284. Several students and graduates of MLCU have been awarded JRF, NET and merit scholarships by the UGC. Many graduates of MLCU are pursuing their higher studies in universities and institutions in different parts of the country and abroad. The University recognizes its opportunity and responsibility to contribute to the sustainable development of Meghalaya and the Northeast region, participating not only in higher education, so in vocational education, healthcare, information and communication networks, environmental conservation, gender studies, cultural documentation, peace building and interventional projects. The University collaborates with NGOs, community organizations, and industry in the development of the community.
ABOUT Dr. Homiwell Library:
The main Library of Martin Luther Christian University, the Dr. Homiwell Library, has been named after the late Dr. Homiwell Lyngdoh (1877-1958) who was “a physician, a political and a social thinker as well as a church leader”. “He contributed substantially to the study of Khasi Literature and culture”.
The University has both Central and Departmental libraries. The main library is housed in the main campus and is accessible to all the students and staff of MLCU whilst the departmental libraries with more specified and specialized holdings are located in respective departments and accessible to students and staff of those departments. The Library is equipped with computers and internet facilities for the students to browse for reading materials related to their studies, and also has photocopying and spiral-binding facilities.
The University has a well-equipped library having a good collection of Reference books, Encyclopedias, Subjects Text Books. The library also subscribes to many National, International Journals/Magazines and Newspapers (National, Regional and Local) that are easily accessible by the Faculties, students and the University staff, besides, The library also has a spacious reading room for the users to read.

Selection Criteria:
Selection will be done based on first-come-first-serve basis to a maximum number of 30 (thirty). The selection confirmation will be intimated through e-mail within 24 hours of the registration. In case a candidate is not selected, the amount will be refunded. No refund will be made if the participant fails to attend the workshop.
