With the aim to inculcate research skills, the Department of Doctoral Studies & Research, Martin Luther Christian University as part of its annual event organised a two-day event on different research-based activities on the 21st & 22nd of September, 2022. Students from various departments of the university participated in these activities which included quiz competition, data interpretation, out of the box and research poster presentation. The programme culminated on the 22 September 2022, with Dr. Marco Mitri, Associate Professor, Union Christian College, Shillong as Chief Guest at the valedictory function where he emphasised the importance of initiating research activities for the learner right from the moment one joins the under-graduate courses. He appreciated MLCU for having done this since its inception. He added that research dissertations adds significant value to a student’s education besides the certificate one acquired when one graduates. Dr Mitri went on to add that students’ dissertations can bridge the gap in synthesizing and creating knowledge which are relevant to the context of the local community and solving pertinent issues affecting the community.
Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the various activities held during the two day event. The event was attended by the Chancellor, Dean’s and faculty and students.
